At the end of our build time there was a ceremony put on by the teachers and children of the Linh Huynh school. The ceremony included heartfelt speeches of gratitude and appreciation, dances and songs from the children, and exchanging of gifts - both for us and for the school children. Government officials, the students and teachers, and the majority of the village were in attendance for this beautiful occasion. Though we weren't able to finish as planned the strides we made were bold and the relationships we developed between
YMCA International Services and the YMCA of Greater Houston host a project to build or repair elementary school classrooms in rural Vietnam. The construction of the schools is combined with a two week-long service learning opportunity for participants to assist with the construction of the classrooms as they learn about Vietnam's people and places.
